Whistler Film Festival

December 2 – 6, 2015

The Whistler Film Festival will celebrate its 15th edition as one of Canada’s leading festivals, attracting over 10,000 attendees including 550+ industry insiders. Featuring innovative and original films from around the world and opportunities to connect with the people who made them, this year’s five day Festival will be filled with more premieres, star-studded guests, lively celebrations and unique industry initiatives.

The Whistler Holiday Experience

December 19, 2015 – January 3, 2016

The Whistler Holiday Experience, taking place at the Whistler Conference Center starting December 19th to January 4th from 10:00am to 6:00pm.  This is a great way to spend time with the kids as this family fun zone has indoor entertainment such as mini putt, table games, crafts, video games and even a bouncy castle.  Parents can relax and enjoy a warm drink while the kids play in a safe warm environment at the centre of Whistler Village. There is also an outdoor version called Whistler Presents: Family Après that takes place every Monday and Wednesday for the season down at Olympic Plaza from 4:30 – 6:30pm.

The village really does come alive with Whistler Presents: New Years Eve Celebration taking place in Whistler Village starting at 6:00pm. This family friendly, alcohol free live entertainment evening helps families of all ages say goodbye to the old and say hello to the new right in the heart of the village. You will need to get a wristband to access all of the events; they can be purchased online at whistler.com or in person at Millennium Place, Meadow Park or the Visitors Center. The event takes place at three venues throughout the village, Millennium Place, Whistler Conference Center and the Whistler Olympic Plaza. For the older kids head over to the Youth Dance or the New Years Eve Kids Countdown or head outside and ice skate down at the Whistler Plaza under all the lights and snow or take in the special Fire and Ice Show starting at 11:30 followed by a midnight fireworks display.

Whistler Pride & Ski Festival

January 23 – 31, 2016

Don’t miss one of the biggest and best gay ski weeks in the world: Whistler Pride and Ski Festival (previously known as WinterPRIDE). The celebration features a full slate of events including snowmobiling adventures, wine tastings, a pool party, snowball dance, fantastic skiing and snowboarding and everything in-between.

Peak to Valley Race

February 19, 2016

The Peak To Valley Race is one of Whistlers longest standing and unique team races around.  The team itself is made up of 4 skiers, one being from the opposite sex and all over 19 years old.  The race starts up on the Whistler Saddle and vertically drops 1,443 meters to the finish as Dusty’s in Creekside.  There are 180 gates to negotiate over a 5kms long span.

Whistler Cup

Whistler Cup has grown to become the largest and most important ski race in North America, and internationally, for athletes aged 11 to 14 years. It is held under the auspice of FIS, the international governing body for alpine skiing, and with hundreds of young athletes from 23 countries participating, the Whistler Cup brings together children from many different cultures.

All British Car Run

May 22, 2016

The 2016 All British Car Run takes place on May 22nd, 2016.  The British Car run gathers in West Vancouver at the Park Royal Shopping Centre and leaves the city starting around 8:00 to drive on one of the most scenic roads in the world, the Sea to Sky Highway.  The rally ends at the Whistler Olympic Plaza where all of the cars will be on display from 10:30am and on.  Awards and draw prizes will take place at 3:30 and entrants have the opportunity to spend the night.
