Just so you know the do’s and don’t’s when travelling with your pet to Whistler you can read the Resort Municipality of Whistler rules here.
The following Whistler parks have off-leash areas:
- Alpha Lake
- Bayly Park
- Rainbow Park
- Lost Lake Park
Click here for a complete list of Whistler Parks
Dogs are allowed on-leash on the trails around Lost Lake but are not permitted on the main public beach. There is an off-leash dog beach on the east side of the lake known as Canine Cove. Please ensure to pick-up after your dog.
Another is Barking Bay, you will find it at the south end of Rainbow Park. Keep your dog leashed as you travel through the park to Barking Bay. Off leash, your dog must be in your control at all times and remain in the Barking Bay area.
And there is Arfa Lake Dog Area at Alpha Lake Park where dogs are allowed off leash any time of day, once again keep your dog on leash through the park area between the hours of 10am and 8pm.
And to make things better, according to the Whistler Question, the Alpha Lake dog park is slated to receive $125,000 in upgrades to realign the valley trail to help avoid and reduce conflicts. Read more.
